cope with depression

/lift your mood

We all struggle with dips in our mood from time to time. However, when these dips become more of a pattern than an irregularity, it might be time to check in with ourselves and evaluate whether something more serious may be at play. Depression can feel like more than just sadness or a low mood, but rather an array of symptoms that interfere with our daily functioning that prevent us from leading fulfilling lives. Symptoms to monitor include:

  • Feelings of hopelessness

  • Inability focus

  • Irritability

  • Loss of energy

  • Changes in sleep or appetite

  • Suicidal thoughts

Treatment for depression varies based on your individual needs and often involves exploratory work in understanding the origins of your depression, as well as skills based interventions to help you cope more effectively. Our work will draw upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) interventions to provide you with skills to challenge automatic and negative thought patterns, alleviate symptoms, and reconnect with joy.
